The Best and Worst of Plants Vs Zombies

BTW, first blog. I haven't done this before so no haters. I am a mobile gamer. I play a variety of games from action to simulation. My favorite is Minecraft because there isn't really nothing you can't do in it. You can set your own goals and do whatever you want. But enough of Minecraft, let's get to Plants vs Zombies. This is one of my favorite games. I once had it on my laptop but I had to reformat it because of some problems but now I have it on my iPad. Plants vs Zombies was released in 2009, which is the year Minecraft started in development.

Plants vs Zombies is about a person in a not-so-epic zombie apocalypse. He meets this guy named crazy dave who teaches him to make defenses with his plants, including things that shoot peas, fruit and vegetable explosives, cabbage catapults, sun making flowers etc. He even teaches him to go bowling with walnuts. (I don't know about you guys but I had a strike :P)

Now levels are pretty easy at the first set of levels but the 2nd to 5th sets' will be difficult, crap. I really don't mind that but the thing that ticks me off that when the final wave comes, a "surprise  attack" comes. In the 2nd set, which is Night, has these graves where you can't plant on plus, sun doesn't fall from the sky, so it might be difficult to use high sun cost plants. Zombies rise up the graves when the final wave comes. Luckily, things called Gravebusters can be placed on them to make them disappear. They cost 75 sun. Awesome! Cheap, fair recharge and prevents sneak attacks.

But when you get to the 3rd and 4th set, which is Pool and Fog, you'll be surprised on the surprise attacks. They come out of the pool! Which is worst on Fog because it's basically Pool but at night so, again, high sun cost plants are not recommended. The zombies that come out of the pool are covered in seaweed so it seems legit as hell to find seaweed-covered zombies in a pool in the Suburbs.

The 5th set of levels are pretty easy but whenever you need to plant something, you'll need an extra 25 sun to plants them because of you're in the roof (How the hell did the zombies get up there?). The extra 25 sun is for the flower pots because you can't plant on the roof, the only logical thing in this game and it still pisses me off. The sneak attack are Bungee Zombies (which are my favorite) dropping off other zombies on your roof. They aren't really that a big deal, especially since the Umbrella leaf prevents this. But since the Umbrella leaf is unlocked in the middle, you're gonna have some problems on the first few levels.

One thing that pisses me off during the course of the game is that every set of levels has this "alpha zombie." An alpha zombie is the strongest zombie out of the pack (Are we now talking about wolves?). I'll tell you the alpha zombies of every set.

1st set: Buckethead Zombie - Takes more than 60 hits to kill. Can be fended off by distracting it with a wall-nut.
2nd set: Football Zombie - Takes more than 70 hits to kill. Is faster than most zombies. Can be fended off by using fume-shrooms or hypnotized by Hypno-shrooms.
3rd set: Zomboni - A zombie riding a zamboni. Takes more than 70 hits to kill. Cannot be hypnotized, frozen or paralyzed. Can be destroyed by spikeweed but the spikeweed is destroyed as well.

4th set: All of them (welp, at least I made it to the 4th set). The Jack-in-the-box zombie is protected by its jack-in-the-box. It's weakness is the Magnet-shroom, which takes away its jack-in-the-box. But if the jack-in-the-box is not destroyed or taken away from it, there is a chance that it will explode (seems legit). The Balloon Zombie is immune to almost all attacks except for the Cactus, the Cattail and the Blover. The cactus and the cattail shoot spikes at its ballon while the Blover just blows it away. I recommend the Blover because it not only blows away Balloon zombies but also the fog. It'll return in several seconds, though.

The Digger Zombie is equipped with a pick axe so it digs underground until it reaches the end of the level where it eats all your plants. It has many weaknesses such as  Split Pea (shoots from both the front and back), the Magnet-shroom (takes away it's pickaxe), Starfruit (shoots in five directions, including upper left, lower left, up, down and backwards), Potato Mine (when fully armed, the potato mine could kill it in one hit) and Cattail (if the Digger Zombie gets to the end of the level, the Cattail starts shooting because it shoots the zombies nearest to your house). The Pogo Zombie jumps over your plants. It cannot be paralyzed or frozen (when hit by a frozen projectile it justs gets slower but can still jump over your plants.

5th set: Gargantuar - Is an extremely huge zombie that is controlled by Imp, a small zombie which can be killed in less than 10 hits. The Gargantuar takes a whopping 150 hits to kill. It can be frozen and paralyzed but it cannot be hypnotized because it does not eat the plants, he crushes them with either a post, a wildlife sign or another zombie (A huge zombie wielding a zombie while being controlled by a small zombie? Your argument is invalid!). It's special is that when it only has half of it's health, it'll throw
the Imp 3-5 squares away from your house. It also takes 2 explosives to kill.

While there are many things that ticks me off in Plants Vs Zombies, there are also things that make me laugh. One example is the Dancing Zombie. It's special is that it summons four Backup dancer zombies that were somewhat difficult to me  to kill. While it is a set back in the 2nd set, it is actually funny. I mean come on, who wouldn't laugh at a Michael Jackson zombie summoning backup dancers? In the Game of the Year, mobile and I think the Xbox editions of the game, they changed its
look. It now more looks like someone from the '70s or Disco Stu from the Simpsons.

Another thing that makes me laugh is the credits. Who wouldn't love a music video featuring a singing sunflower and some zombies grooving to the beat?

Sorry for the long post because this is the first time I've ever blogged before. Hope you like this :)
